Pipeline - Valor Econômico newspaper's business information website - reported on 14/11/2024 that Moriah has added another brand linked to health and well-being to its portfolio by investing R$1.2 million to take 30% of Freeze, a manufacturer of ice cream and popsicles without sugar, lactose or gluten.

Founded two years ago by Carolina Goldberg, a 28-year-old entrepreneur with a family history in the ice cream industry, Freeze had until then operated out of a small factory in Jardim Paulista, São Paulo, from where it supplied desserts to restaurants such as Rubayat, Insalata and Empório Frutaria and sold through the iFood and Rappi apps.

Carolina delved into the family recipes, spent a season studying the formulas in Italy and created what Fabiano Zettel, founder of Moriah, defines as an ice cream that is as creamy as it is full of fat.

Most of the capital in the transaction was injected into the cash flow to open Freeze's first store and increase production capacity in a 400 square meter unit in the São Paulo neighborhood of Itaim Bibi, which will also be manufactured locally.

The next step will be to expand to other capitals, which could happen through a franchise model, and to sell in supermarket chains.

Freeze expects to close the year with revenues of R$4 million, double last year's figure. For Zettel, the potential for growth comes from serving two complementary niches - the public that has actual dietary restrictions, such as celiacs or diabetics, and those looking for healthier and less caloric options in general.
